Women V Cancer Ride the Night London 2022
2 years on from being diagnosed and successfully treated for breast cancer by a fantastic NHS, I am so grateful to have made a full recovery and to be feeling fitter and healthier than I have been in a long time.
The medical treatment wasn't easy at times, but the psychological and emotional side was much, much harder. It was the support of several cancer charities which have really helped me make sense of it all and come through everything.
I decided to take on Women V Cancer Ride the Night in May 2020 to raise vital funds for three important women's cancer charities - Breast Cancer Now, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.
While our amazing
health services have been focusing on COVID-19, more people than ever continue to face cancer with less support. I wanted to challenge myself to cycle 100km through London at night to help make sure that no one should have to face cancer alone.
As the ride has had to be delayed until April 2022, and these charities urgently need funding, I am now planning to ride my 100km challenge with a group of friends in Cheshire this August instead. It may not be cycling through the night but as someone who has never been that into exercise it will still be an incredible achievement for me.
Please support me and the Women V Cancer charities and make a donation. Whatever you can give, any amount will be split evenly Breast Cancer Now, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and will go a very long way.
