Women V Cancer Ride the Night London 2022

I'm taking on Women V Cancer Ride the Night to raise vital funds for three important charities at a time when they need it most. While our amazing health services focus on COVID-19, more people than ever are left to face cancer with less support. I’m challenging myself to cycle 100km through London at night to help make sure that no one should have to face cancer alone.

Please support me and the Women V Cancer charities on my challenge and make a donation. Whatever you can donate, any amount will be split evenly Breast Cancer Now, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and will go a very long way.

Thank you.

Currently training on a wahoo as it’s too cold outside! 🥶🙊
Loving the challenges on Strava and wahoo SYSTM. Lots of progress being made! 💕🌟

2nd ride!

Wednesday 22nd Sep
So my second ever ride on the road bike, after sorting a few bits on it, including new matchy bar tape 🤩and fighting for what felt like hours to change the pedals and the angle of the bike seat. Felt very pleased with myself. (Girl power!) Also with the help of many YouTube videos. How did we ever do anything without it?!

Headed off on the usual dartington loop whilst mother goes running with her run club. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️Got to the furthest point way and oh balls.. my new mechanic skills are not quite up to scratch (back to the drawing board) 😅 the seat screw had become lose and felt like my cycle had now become a game of buckaroo! 🐎

I decided now was probably time to start heading home which was rather interesting.
Standing on the pedals the whole way back, on the drop bars so I could break enough, and down the Devon hills which I had worked so hard to get up and obviously wiggled the screw lose.
My quads are still burning now!! Just under 9 miles today and all the pain. Let’s hope I can walk tomorrow! 🤣🤣
Hopefully a less eventful ride next time 🤞
